Benjamin “Ben” Miller, 66, of Clayhole, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Born on April 9, 1959, in Wilstacy, Kentucky, he lived a life defined by quiet dedication to his family, his work, and the simple things that brought him joy.
A skilled heavy equipment operator, Ben took great pride in his craft and approached every task with a strong work ethic and steady commitment. In his free time he enjoyed riding motorcycles, working his tractor, spending time outdoors, and above all, being with his family. A longtime and devoted member of Decoy Community Church, he lived his faith with sincerity and humility.
Ben shared 46 loving years with his wife, Barbara Ann Miller. Together they raised a close-knit family that includes daughters Jessica Ellis (Shane) and Kayla Miller, son Gavyn Daniel, and beloved grandchildren Harley Miller, Caige Ellis, Kaizley Ellis, Haidyn Russell, Mikaylyn Miller, Noah Miller, and Jaxtyn Daniel. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Melva Marie Miller, sisters Lillian Dunn, Rita Burnsworth, Helen Miller, and Daisy Barnett (Jr.), along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will carry warm memories of him.
He was preceded in death by his son Shane Miller, grandson Gary Michael Miller, son-in-law Chucky Daniel, parents Johnny Sr. and Audrey Mullins Miller, brothers Carl “Scrub” Miller, Johnny Jr. “Bug” Miller, James Miller, and Lee Collins, and sisters Delphia Fraley and Kansie Collins Marshall. Ben’s legacy remains one of deep love for his family and a genuine passion for the pursuits that made his life full. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence and the quiet strength he brought to every relationship.
