Benjamin Bond ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Metropolitan Funeral Service - Berkley Chapel on Mar. 2, 2026.Benjamin Franklin Bond, Jr., affectionately known to many as "Lil June," was born on January 28 to Cora Bond and Benjamin Franklin Bond Sr. As the oldest of ten children, Benjamin naturally stepped into the role of protector and leader within his family from an early age.Benjamin proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he continued building a life centered around hard work, dedication, and family. He later built a long and honorable career as a longshoreman, where he worked faithfully for 32 years until his retirement.Benjamin married the love of his life, Prycie Bond. Their marriage of more than 50 years was a beautiful example of commitment, loyalty, and enduring love. Their home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and a strong sense of family.Benjamin was the beloved brother of Betty Ann (predeceased), Marlesia, Roger (predeceased), Kearney, William (predeceased), Deborah (predeceased), Vinesa, Lorenzo, and Selena. He was also the cherished nephew of his living uncle, Redden Bond, Jr.Family meant everything to Benjamin. He took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. He leaves behind his beloved children, Felicia, Terri, Sabrina, and Benjamin C. Bond; grandchildren, Artavia, Willie, Jr., Whitney, Ashley, Amber, Benjamin (Trae), Jaylon, and Noah; as well as his great-grandchildren, Artavion, Fiara, Arzavia, Layla, Autumn, and Onyx. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him immense joy.Benjamin was known as a man who could fix almost anything. If something needed to be done, he was the one people called. He believed in hard work, getting things done the right way, and always being there for the people he loved. There was rarely a time when someone reached out to him, and he did not answer.He had a personality that drew people in. Benjamin was witty and quick with humor, yet carried himself with a seriousness and wisdom that earned the respect of everyone around him. His presence brought both laughter and guidance to those fortunate enough to know him.Benjamin enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and spending time surrounded by family and friends. The Bond family was well known for their gatherings, where everyone who walked through the door was welcomed and made to feel like family.Later in life, Benjamin gave his life to Christ and faithfully served as a church deacon.
