Benjamin Favaloro, 63, of Rockport MA passed away on Saturday, March 7th, 2026, after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was a Rockport native his whole life where he graduated from Rockport High School in 1981. Ben went on to have a very long and successful career working as a Software Engineer in various companies including Columbus Software (his own company), Acculogic, and lastly at XP Power in Gloucester.

Ben had many hobbies from fishing, golfing, gardening, camping, cooking, and especially traveling with family. He held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and spent quality time with them cooking, playing with Legos, and more fishing. He dedicated many years of volunteer service to the Rockport Boy Scout Troop 20. He served as the Scoutmaster for over 10 years and all three of his sons earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Marie Favaloro (Gillis). His children Nicholas Favaloro and his wife Kaylynn (Hobbs) of Gloucester, Kyle Favaloro and his wife Jenna (Cunningham) of Rockport, and Nathaniel Favaloro of Rockport. His grandchildren Scott and Blake Favaloro. His siblings Cathrine Main, Salvatore Favaloro and his wife Gail, Franklyn Favaloro and his wife Janelle. His Brother and Sister-in laws Donald and Jane Walsh, Thomas and Natalie Gillis, James and Debbie Gillis and many beloved nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Jenna, Dan, Matthew, Kaitlin and Ian. Lastly, his lifelong friend Derek Stevens, and his second Mother Jean Stevens. He is predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Evelyn Favaloro, his sister Paula Favaloro, his father and mother-in laws James and Anita Gillis, and Sister-in-law Nancy Elwell.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to his team at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Boston and his care team at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 12, from 4-7p.m. at the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be held in Locust Grove Cemetery, 90 Langsford Street, Gloucester, on Friday, March 13, at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Ben's Memory to the Rockport Boy Scouts, Troop 20.
