He was predeceased by: his father Virgil Cordell Patterson; and his sister Sophia Yvette Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Vickie Patterson; his son Richard Cordell Patterson; his mother Loutisha Patterson; and his brother Ralph Patterson (Diana). He is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the River of Life Ministries (3412 Leonard St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534).
