Ben Jack Holland

Ben Jack “Benny” Holland, age 67, of the Blue Ridge community, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at his home. A native of Habersham County, he spent much of his youth in Vidalia before moving to Dahlonega in 1970. He graduated from Lumpkin County High School in 1976 and from Swainsboro Technical College in 1981. Benny proudly served in the United States Army, with postings in Korea, Germany, and Fort Bliss, Texas. He later enjoyed a 26-year career with the Department of Agriculture as a food inspector, retiring in 2019 and returning to Toombs County.

Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and William “Nubby” Holland; his brothers, Billy Holland and Bobby Holland; and his former wife, Sherri Holland. He is survived by his son, Derrick Holland of Dahlonega, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He will be remembered as a dedicated veteran, a hardworking man, and a devoted father who cherished his family and the communities he called home throughout his life.
