Beatrice M. Gardner, 93, of Bedford, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.
Born in Hooversville on August 5, 1932, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Samson and Mae (Housel) Zimmerman. On April 10, 1953, she married Stanley Von Gardner, who preceded her in death on August 12, 2008.
She is survived by her children: David R. Gardner of Phoenixville; Ethel Mae and her husband Tim Beining of Schellsburg; Larry S. and his wife Wendy (Kanouff) Gardner of Bedford; Max E. and his wife Pamela (Henry) Gardner of Sarasota, Florida; Karl A. and his wife Cheryl (Stiffler) Gardner of Friends Cove; Linda C. and her husband Ray Weyant of Bedford; and daughter-in-law Syretha Denny of Hogansville, Georgia. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Beatrice was preceded in death by two sons, Eric D. Gardner and his wife Robin Eicher, and Gerald L. Gardner, as well as her siblings Jay, Claude, Clifford, two infant brothers, Kathleen Harbaugh, Doris Miller, Anna Belle Kipp, and Dewey Zimmerman. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and cherished her dear friends Marian Clites, Nancy Beeler, Marcia Restley, and Laurie Criswell.
Beatrice retired from Hedstrom after 25 years as a stitcher. A longtime member of Wolfsburg United Methodist Church, she found joy in participating in church activities. She loved knitting and reading, and was remembered as a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of all who knew her.
