Barry Wayne Clifton, born in Lexington, Kentucky, on August 22, 1952, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in Owenton, Kentucky.
Barry retired after dedicating thirty years of his life to his work as a machinist at Bendix, where his career was marked by hard work and commitment. He found great joy in the outdoors, particularly as an avid fisherman who participated in tournaments in his younger years. He also enjoyed shooting and cherished the many happy times spent gathering with friends for campouts. Music was another of his passions; he loved playing with friends and treasured the hours he spent enjoying that hobby.
Barry shared a loving life with his wife of more than fifty-two years, Joan McCoige Clifton. He is survived by his sister, Raegena (Colby) Criswell; his brother-in-law, Hal (Dana) McCoige; and his nephews, John David (Kara) Criswell, Colby Brandon (Missy) Criswell, Chad McCoige, and Cameron (Miranda) McCoige. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene R. Clifton and Juanita Vance Clifton Easley, and his son, Barry Christopher Clifton.
