November 19, 1963— March 14, 2026
Quaker City, OH
Barry Peters, 62, of Quaker City, Ohio, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at his home. Born on November 19, 1963, in Wheeling, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Frederick Larry and Judith Ann (Smith) Peters.
A 1982 graduate of Barnesville High School, Barry proudly served in the United States Army and later in the United States Air Force Reserves. He attended Belmont Technical College after his military service. Known for his dedication and skill, he worked for many years in various trades in the construction field. After meeting the love of his life, Judy, he partnered with her in operating the Bethesda Market. In 2009, Barry and Judy opened the Barry Peters Insurance Agency in Barnesville, where they continued to serve their community together.
Barry was born again in October 1998 and lived the remainder of his life with a deep passion for sharing his faith and evangelizing others. He served as a devoted preacher at Mt. Zion Bible Teaching Church in Belmont. He cherished time outdoors, particularly golfing and fishing, and he and Judy shared a love for travel, often planning trips around his enjoyment of the game of golf.
Barry is survived by his wife of 22 years, Judy Anne (Nikolaus) Peters, whom he married on January 10, 2004; his brother, Daniel (Julie) Peters of Barnesville; his niece, Lindsey (Steve) Brown of Barnesville; his great-nephew, Connor Brown; his uncle, Jay Peters of Quaker City; his father, George (Lana) Kekovich of Florida; and special friends Jack Dollison of Quaker City, who had become like a son to him, and Amanda Byler of Salesville, who had become like a daughter.
