Barry J. Benevento

Barry J. Benevento, 80, passed away on March 8, 2026, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, to the late John “Jack” Benevento and Catherine “Kay” Hoffman, Barry lived in Old Bridge before retiring to Manahawkin.

He spent his working life in the home improvement field, beginning with roofing and plumbing before retiring from JBK Inspection Services in Old Bridge as a home inspector. Barry loved being outdoors, particularly at the beach, and cherished diving and treasure hunting.

Predeceased by his daughter Kari, he is survived by his loving wife Karen (Sellar) and their children: John and Diane Benevento of Old Bridge, Barry of Manahawkin, and Kristie Benevento of Sayreville. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Colten and Violet of Old Bridge, his sisters Lois and Paulette, his brother Jackie, and many nieces and nephews.
