Barry Eugene Rikard
November 12, 1950— March 5, 2026
Kings Mountain, NC
Barry Eugene Rikard, 75, passed away on March 5, 2026 at his home in Kings Mountain, NC. Born November 12, 1950 in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James Bratton and Lois Bennett Rikard and was also preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Rikard. Barry graduated with the Kings Mountain High School Class of 1969, then served his country honorably with the US Army in Vietnam. He was very proud of his service and his country. He worked at and retired from Eaton Corporation in Grover. Barry was an avid sports fan and also an active participant for many years in local league basketball and softball. He enjoyed time outdoors, whether he be bird-watching, gardening his beautiful flowers and summer tomato plants, or tending his pool so his family could enjoy it. Barry's family was his pride and joy; he was a devoted husband, loving father, and exemplary "Pop." His grandchildren were the most important part of his life, and he cherished his time spent with them, be it on family beach trips or simply being together for meals or swim sessions at his house. Those who knew and loved him will treasure their memories of his charismatic grin, his quick wit, and the remarkable example he set for them.
