Barry C. Burks

November 15, 1962 March 9, 2026

North Little Rock, AR

Barry C. Burks, 63, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 15, 1962, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, he was the son of Charles and JoAnn Burks. Barry carried forward his parents’ legacy of kindness and community throughout his life, sharing a close and enduring bond with his brother, Charles.

On Christmas Day in 2004, Barry married the love of his life, Doris Burks. Their marriage was a true partnership built on deep affection and shared joy. Together they raised four daughters—Krista (Allan), Lindsey (Clint), Christina (Sean), and Trisha (Shelby)—instilling in each of them the values of kindness, integrity, and generosity. Barry’s greatest delight was his nine grandchildren: Seth, Andruw, Hunter, Connor C., Connor R., Summer, Addison, Collin, and Heston. His eyes would light up whenever he spoke of them or spent time playing with them.

Barry owned and operated Educators Book Depository, where he served not only as an employer but as a mentor and friend to many young people beginning their careers. A man of deep faith, he was an active member of Morgan Full Gospel Church, where his generous spirit and heartfelt contributions were greatly valued. He embraced life with enthusiasm, enjoying scuba diving, world travel, playing music in several bands, and riding his motorcycle. Barry had a heart of gold and a natural gift for making everyone around him feel seen, valued, and cared for.

He is survived by his wife Doris, his daughters and their husbands, his nine grandchildren, his brother Charles, and many dear friends who will remember him with great fondness.
