Warwick, RI

Barbara T. (Weeks) Pugh, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at St. Antoine’s Residence in North Smithfield on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born on October 1, 1935, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Robert N. and Doris T. (DeGrange) Weeks, Barbara graduated from Cranston High School in 1953. She met her future husband, Randall L. Pugh, at a dance, and the couple shared 66 years of marriage until his death on October 15, 2022. Barbara was a woman of many creative talents. She sewed numerous gowns and dresses, including her own cherished wedding gown, and tended a beautiful flower garden that brought color and life to her home. She took great care in decorating her house for the holidays and enjoyed many happy outings with Randall, exploring antique shops and auctions in search of treasured finds.

Professionally, Barbara began her career as a PBX operator with The New England Telephone and Telegraph Company, where her calm and friendly voice helped many. She later worked as a switchboard operator for Sears, Roebuck & Company at their Midland Mall Store in Warwick. In her youth she was a classical violinist who performed with the Rhode Island Junior Philharmonic Orchestra, playing one of the four handcrafted violins made by her father. Her musical journey began at age seven when she received her first violin as a Christmas gift.

Barbara is survived by her children, Elizabeth Ann Prunier of Millbury, Massachusetts, Katherine Gaye Lombardi of West Warwick, Randall Lee Pugh Jr. and his wife Paula of Warwick, Jennifer Restivo and her husband Jack of Warwick, and Roland Labonte and his partner Wendi of Richmond. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jason Lombardi and his wife Jessica, Michelle Marchand and her husband Keith, Randall L. Pugh III and his wife Alyssa, Jack Restivo and his wife Kelsey, Nicholas Restivo, and Alec Restivo and his wife Antonia, as well as three great-grandchildren, Sofia, Hannah, and Maxwell. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Weeks and his wife Jean of Virginia.

A private family service will honor Barbara’s Baptist faith and the love, warmth, and kindness she brought to everyone around her. Her ashes will be laid to rest beside those of her husband at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnston.
