Barbara Silverman, a woman of remarkable strength and resilience, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in Boca Raton, Florida at the age of 87. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she lived a life defined by love, dedication, and joy.
Barbara found profound happiness in her marriage to her beloved husband, Al Silverman. Together they enjoyed traveling the world, socializing with friends, and building a loving family. Despite numerous health and mobility challenges, multiple surgeries, and periods of rehabilitation, Barbara remained determined to stay at the center of her family as its devoted matriarch. Her vibrant personality and caring nature endeared her to everyone around her. She took great pleasure in playing cards and Mahjong with friends and family, and after moving to Boca Raton, she and Al became active members of the Woodfield Country Club community, where they enjoyed card games and shared meals with fellow members.
She is survived by her husband, Al Silverman; her devoted daughters, Michelle Schweibel (Howie), Randi Rubzin (Todd), and Mindy Kraft (Howard); her grandchildren Scott Rubzin (Lacey), Emily Winepol (Spencer), Doug Schweibel (Marisa), Darren Schweibel, and Drew Schweibel; and her great-grandchildren Calvin, Claire, and Zoe, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister Susan Gottlieb and her brother Michael Garfinkel.
Barbara will be remembered for her caring nature, her unwavering love for her family, and her enduring strength. Her memory will remain a source of comfort to all who knew and loved her.
