BARBARA SCOTT

August 5, 1953 February 27, 2026

Shreveport, LA

Barbara Elaine Henderson Scott was born August 5, 1953 and she transitioned from this life February 27, 2026. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at the Lighthill Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. She attended Northside Elementary School, Linear Junior High School, Northwood High School and Grambling College. Both of her parents preceded her in death: Arthur Lee Henderson and Ivella Parks Henderson Garrett. Her youngest brother, Delbert Dewayne Parks(Jennifer) also preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory, two children Courtnee Hawkins and Ross Scott Jr, her grandchildren, one sister Vickie Diainnie Frazier (Lonnie) and brother Arthur Henderson (Belinda), and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and uncles. Even though she is no longer with us, we know that she is in a better place where she won’t have to deal with sickness anymore. And even though we are grieving, we don’t grieve as those who have no hope. Because of our relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we don’t question His Plan, but we ask Him to strengthen us as we deal with her absence. We know that she is not alone, because of the number of family and friends who have gone on before her. We look forward to seeing her again, but until then we will cherish the time that we shared while she was here with us. The Bible reminds us, “To be absent from the Body is to be present with the Lord.”Birth: August 5, 1953Death: February 27, 2026
