Barbara M. Thomas

Barbara M. Thomas, 59, of Johnstown, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on April 28, 1966, in Portage, she was the daughter of the late Mirrel and Rita (George) Plummer. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Diana Bender and Belinda Hess.

Barb is survived by her longtime companion, Eugene Hudak; her children, Amber Plummer, Douglas Thomas, Keshawn Jefferson, and Sophie Thomas; her beloved grandchildren, Natalia Colabove, Kyriona Thomas, and Jaxson Thomas; her brother, Mirrel Plummer Jr.; and her sisters, Ellen Goldberg, Maggie Catalfano, Tammy Plummer, and Violet Plummer, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends and family.

Those who knew her will remember the way birds gathered near her porch, as if they sensed they were always welcome. She found quiet joy in feeding them and watching their daily visits. Barb read her prayers every day and carried a gentle, steadfast faith. Her laughter was unforgettable—warm, genuine, and so contagious that it could lift the spirits of everyone around her, gently reminding them not to take life too seriously.

She leaves behind the warmth of her laughter, her kindness, and the quiet strength of her spirit. In the song of a bird, the flutter of a butterfly, or an unexpected moment of shared laughter, those who loved her will surely think of Barb and smile.
