Mooresville, IN
Barbara Jean Pogue, born October 1, 1938, in Bedford, Indiana, to Claude Everett and Eileen Harmony (Mitchell) Dillon, passed away on March 8, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. The second of six children, she grew up in Bedford and devoted much of her life to raising her family across south-central Indiana. Her days were centered on her deep faith and the people she loved.
Barb worked for many years as a court stenographer and later served as a church secretary. For more than 42 years she shared a rich life with her devoted husband, Larry Pogue. Together they traveled extensively, visiting countries around the world and every one of the 50 United States. She was known for her generous spirit and her exceptional cooking; no one ever left her table hungry. Her cinnamon rolls, pies, cherry cheesecake, and fried chicken with mashed potatoes became beloved staples at family gatherings, Sunday dinners, and celebrations of every kind.
Barb and Larry were longtime volunteers with Indy Honor Flight, where they found great joy in honoring Hoosier veterans. She is remembered for the warmth, laughter, and care she brought to every occasion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Eileen Dillon, and her sisters, Sue (Woody) Wright and Nancy Chilcote. Barb is lovingly survived by her husband, Larry Pogue; her sons, Dale (Debbie) True, Mike (Vanessa) True, and Kerry (Lori) True; stepchildren, Daryl (Karen) Pogue and Lisa (Tom) Martin; chosen son, Mike (Julie) Bush; grandchildren, Heather (Autumn) True, Jessica (Charles) Ingraham, Andrea (Caleb) Landis, Ashley True, Allyson True, Dillon True, Garrett Jones, Alisha (Justin) Nichols, Derrick Pogue, Kate (Ethan) Taulbee, and Ian (Hope) Martin; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Halle Ingraham, Hadley Landis, Connor, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Charlotte Nichols, Alexander and Oliver Pogue, and Hayes and Graham Taulbee, with Baby Martin expected soon; her siblings, Debbie (Bob) Claprodt, Robert Dillon, and Mary (Dave) Kays; and many nieces and nephews across multiple generations.
