Shaw, 79, died March 15, 2026, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loved ones. Barbara was born on August 15, 1946, in Winchester, Massachusetts, one of three daughters of Arvid H. and Lillian (Johansen) Monsen. Barbara was raised in Winchester, graduating from Winchester High School in 1964. Barbara went on to earn a degree from Burdette College in 1966. Barbara worked as an accountant for most of her life.Barbara was the devoted wife of the late Clark H. Shaw. Barbara is survived by and the loving mother, Deborah Mackenzie, and her husband, John, of Glendale, Arizona, and Diana Buterbaugh and her husband, Christopher Buterbaugh, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and her grandchildren, Christian, Matthew, and Daniel Buterbaugh of Plymouth. Barbara was predeceased by her sisters, Myrna Evans and Carol Avent. Barbara is also survived by her brothers-in-law and her many nieces and nephews.Barbara enjoyed many interests, including her grandchildren, Disney, Hershey Chocolate, walking on the beach, the Boston Bruins, playing cards with friends, and the Sunrise Assisted Living crew.A private graveside memorial and inurnment will be held at a later date in Millis, MA.In memory of Barbara, one can make a memorial gift to Black Feather Stables in Plymouth, MA. They rescue abused and neglected animals, particularly horses, who then provide therapy for individuals in need.
