Barbara Jean Greaves, age 91, of Gladwin, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026. She was born on October 24, 1934, the daughter of David and Edna (McMahen) Lamb, in Gladwin. On November 1, 1952, she married the love of her life, Robert Greaves. Together, they shared 60 years filled with love and cherished memories until he preceded her in death in 2013. After having her 3 oldest girls, she went back to night school to earn her GED in 1969.
Barbara enjoyed square dancing with Robert, camping, and traveling the states. She taught knitting and sewing through 4H and loved baking.
She is survived by her children: Cheryl (Richard) Simmons, Charlene (Eduardo) Cotto, Tammy Jo Greaves, and Lanette (Eric) Morgan; grandchildren: Janelle, Jeffrey, Eduardo, Reneé, Rachél, Roberta, Isaac, Aaron, and Kailah;14 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and sister: Carolyn Cross.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Robert; parents: David and Edna; brother: Edwin (Sonny) Lamb; sisters: Rosanna Owens and Winona Greer.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and residents at Niche Aging in Clare for the care and compassion they showed to Barbara during her time with them.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the New Dawn Shelter in honor of Barbara.
