Barbara E. Melino

Barbara Ellen (Collins) Melino, 79, of Chepachet, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at Tockwotton on March 11, 2026. Born on May 20, 1946, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Doris (Sadlier) Collins.

A graduate of East Providence High School in 1964 and the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing in 1968, Barbara began a lifelong career as a dedicated and skilled nurse. She was a fun and caring woman with a sharp sense of humor who brought joy to everyone around her. Barbara had a passion for cooking, needlepoint, and sewing. Together with her husband Joe, she also explored wine making, adding another creative dimension to her many interests.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Joseph Melino; her brother Robert Collins and his wife Rosalie (McCole); her sister-in-law Joan (Melino) Blomstedt; her niece Kris (Duncan) Toomey and husband Patrick; and her nephew Keith Duncan and wife Heidi (Campbell). Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Doris Collins, and her sister, Beverly (Collins) Duncan.

Barbara’s warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
