Barbara Downs ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Mar. 10, 2026.Barbara Dean Downs, age 89, of Marshfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026.Barbara was born on August 10, 1936, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Paul Hopper and Margaret Floyd Hopper, both of whom preceded her in death.On November 13, 1954, she married the love of her life, Kenneth E. Downs. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. Kenneth preceded her in death.Barbara devoted many years to raising her family and caring for her home. Later in life, she worked as a pharmacy technician, where she was known for her kindness and dedication.Her faith was the foundation of her life. Barbara loved Jesus deeply and spent many years serving in her church, teaching Sunday school and leading women's Bible studies. She found great joy in sharing her faith and encouraging others through scripture and fellowship. She also loved having fun and had a wonderful sense of humor, often bringing laughter and joy to those around her.She is survived by her son, Jeffery Downs (Nicole), of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her daughter, Karen Phillips (James) of Marshfield, Missouri; and three grandchildren-Kimberly Miller, Craig Phillips, and Jessica Phillips-along with multiple great-grandchildren who brought her great pride and joy.Barbara will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her deep faith, and her ability to make people smile and laugh. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.She will be laid to rest at Sunland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sun City, AZ.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
