Barbara Avery

Barbara Avery, a seven-year resident of Indianapolis, passed away on March 10, 2026.

Born on December 10, 1946, in Wakefield, Kansas, to William and Hazel Avery, Barbara was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kansas, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She went on to enjoy a long and successful career in New Orleans as an office manager for the law firm of McGlinchey Stafford. Her keen intellect and unwavering commitment to excellence earned her the deep respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

She is survived by her older brother, William Avery of Indianapolis, her younger brother, Brad Avery of Topeka, Kansas, and her younger sister, Martha Sue Avery of Concord, Massachusetts. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved significant other, Raymond Brady.
