Barbara Adcock ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by McWhorter Funeral Home - Gilmer on Mar. 9, 2026.Memorial services for Barbara Adcock, 64, of Gilmer, Texas, will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 14, 2026, in the Chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am, prior to the service.Today we gather to remember and honor the life of Barbara Annette Kelley Adcock-a woman whose story was written in love, endurance, and family.Barbara was born on September 11, 1961, in Wilmot, Arkansas, and she passed from this life on February 10, 2026, in Gilmer, Texas. Her journey carried her across places and seasons, but wherever she went, her heart remained rooted in family.Barbara was a mother first and always. She poured her love into her son, Wesley Allen Kelley, and took pride in the life he built alongside his wife, Dawn Lizzette Kelley. Her joy multiplied in her grandchildren-Keigan Mical Kelley, Ty Gomez, Ryleigh Ma' Chele Kelley, and Aidan Jacob Kelley, all of Gilmer, Texas. They were her laughter, her light, and her legacy. Nothing mattered more to her than knowing her family was together and cared for.She is also survived by her brothers, Glen Kelley, Bill Kelley, and John Kelley, bonds formed early in life and carried through all the years that followed.Barbara knew both love and loss deeply. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Owen Trent Adcock, whose passing left a space in her heart that was never truly filled, but always honored. She was also preceded by her parents, Mary Francis McDaniels Kelley and Charles Wesley Kelley, who shaped the woman she became. She now joins her six sisters-Betty Faye, Diane, Virginia, Mary, Joyce, and Bernice-and her brother Jim, a reunion long awaited, where sorrow no longer exists and love is made whole again.Barbara's life was not always easy, but it was honest. She was strong in quiet ways, resilient when life demanded it, and deeply loyal to those she loved. She carried the weight of loss without losing her capacity to care. She showed up for her family in the ways that mattered-through presence, through persistence, and through love that didn't need grand words to be felt.If Barbara could leave us with anything, it would be this: love your people while you can, hold your family close, and keep going-even when the road is hard.Today we say goodbye, but we do not say forgotten. Barbara Annette Kelley Adcock lives on in her children, her grandchildren, her family, and in every memory shared and story told.May she rest in peace, reunited with those who went before her, and forever held in the hearts of those who remain. Please visit Barbara's online registration book at www.mcwhorterfh.com to leave a memory for the family. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
