Barbara Anne Shore

Barbara Anne Shore, born on May 4, 1936, in Gaston County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by the love of her family.

Barbara brought warmth and creativity to every part of her life. She worked for 36 years at Duke Energy, where her sharp eye for detail and natural talent for making spaces beautiful earned her the admiration of many. A true creative spirit, she had a gift for transforming ordinary rooms into places of beauty and comfort. She loved to travel, especially treasuring her visits to Hilton Head and Paris, where she created lasting memories filled with joy and laughter that reflected her infectious zest for life.

Deeply devoted to her faith, Barbara was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Gastonia, where she shared her beautiful singing voice as a cherished member of the choir. Her presence enriched the lives of those around her through music, friendship, and quiet strength.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Ward; son, Bruce Shore (Kelly); grandchildren, Lauren Jackson (Christian), Brianna Ward, Kaitlin Shore, and Connor Shore; and great-grandchildren, Kyan Jackson, Landon Ward, and Braylin McLendon. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Bessie Wells, and her sister, Elizabeth Faye Stewart. She leaves behind a family bound by the laughter, love, and warmth she so generously shared throughout her life.
