Barbara Anne Peterson

Barbara Anne Peterson, 84, of Sherburn, Minnesota and formerly of Fairmont, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minnesota.

Born on June 4, 1941 to Sylvester and Opal Peterson in Fairmont, Minnesota, Barbara moved with her family to Austin, Minnesota, where she graduated from high school. She went on to graduate from college in Iowa and spent twelve years teaching physical education at schools in Humboldt, Iowa. She later partnered with her brother James in running a business in Badger, Iowa for fifteen years before returning to Sherburn to help care for her parents.

Barbara found joy in watching sports, working on puzzles, and listening to Elvis. She was a faithful attendee at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Blue Earth, Minnesota, where she deeply appreciated the Bible teachings she studied there.

She is survived by her brother David Peterson of Fairmont, Minnesota. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James Peterson.
