Barbara Ann Stone Damron, age 84, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. Born on March 22, 1941, to Lucien Edgar Stone and Lilly Earline Harris, she lived a long life marked by creativity, kindness, and a deep love for those around her. Known for her gentle nature, patience, and warm smile, Barbara brought quiet joy to others through the things she made with her hands.
She dedicated many years to her work at Mahoney Property Management, where she was employed from 1985 until her retirement in 2019. Colleagues and residents alike appreciated her reliability, strong work ethic, and the genuine relationships she built over more than three decades. In her personal time, Barbara found great pleasure in sewing, crocheting, and candle making. Many family members and friends were fortunate to receive her handmade blankets, scarves, and other carefully crafted gifts, each one reflecting the skill, time, and affection she poured into them. She also enjoyed bowling, an activity that brought her many happy hours and lasting friendships.
Barbara will be remembered for her warm heart, quiet generosity, and the simple, consistent ways she showed care to those she loved. Her creativity and kindness left a meaningful impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Ramsey and husband Chris, and their children Nick and Natalie; her son Bruce and his children Thomas Spina, Anthony Hammond, and Julia Hammond; her son Mark Hammond and wife Terry, and their children Marquita Hammond, Mark Hammond, and Candace King; and her son Tony Richard and his children Elisabeth Richard-Specht and Kate Richard. She is also survived by her sister Billie Jean Smith, nephew Jason Smith, seven great-grandchildren, and great-great granddaughter Layla Gunnels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucien Edgar Stone and Lilly Earline Harris; her sister Ruth Wallace; and her granddaughters Kimberley Hammond and Angela Spina.
