February 17, 1948— March 11, 2026
Auburn, AL
Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Profozich, 78, of Auburn, Alabama, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on February 17, 1948, in Millvale, Pennsylvania, to Norbert and Gertrude Hock, she was the oldest of six children. From an early age, Bobbie excelled in both academics and athletics, competing in basketball and track and field while holding her school’s high jump record and serving as head cheerleader.
She met her husband, Alan, on a blind date following a high school football game. They married in July 1968 and shared a loving marriage that spanned more than 57 years. As a military wife, Bobbie was the steady heart of their family, nurturing their two daughters, Lori Lynn and Jodi Lee, who were born in Great Falls, Montana. She embraced her role as a stay-at-home mother with devotion, attending every sporting event, dance recital, and activity while forging deep, lifelong bonds with her daughters.
Bobbie’s creativity and talents brought joy to many. She was an accomplished knitter, crocheter, and seamstress, creating clothing, intricate window treatments, and comforting items through her work with the Parish ministry “Comfort Weavers.” She also enjoyed woodworking, crafting and painting seasonal characters and scenes that delighted friends and neighbors. Her faith in Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church remained the foundation of her life. After many moves, she and Alan retired to Auburn, where they became active members of Saint Michael the Archangel Church.
Above all, Bobbie cherished her family. She shared a unique and loving relationship with each of her five grandchildren, embracing everything from playing in the dirt with dump trucks to pretend play and dress-up. She passed on her love of baking to her daughters and grandchildren. She is remembered for her kind heart, warm spirit, loving nature, and wise counsel.
She is survived by her husband, Alan Profozich; daughters Lori Grubbs and Jodi Keller (Chris); grandchildren John Alan Grubbs (Mary Frances), Jared Grubbs (Kacie), Katrina Williams (Clayton), Oliva Keller, and Quinn Keller; great-grandchild John Charles “JC”; sisters Margaret Miller (Jim) and Bonita Schriver; brothers David Hock (Linda) and John Hock (Mary); and many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Gertrude Hock, her brother Norbert Hock Jr., and many beloved aunts and uncles.
