February 16, 1951— March 6, 2026
Jacksonville Beach, FL
Barbara Ann Morrison, affectionately known as Madonna, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, surrounded by her loved ones and longtime caregivers. She was the heart of a family that was proud to call her both mother and wife, and her loss has left them deeply saddened.
Born on February 16, 1951 in Wilksburg, Pennsylvania, Barbara was the oldest of three children. Raised in a large, tight-knit Italian-American family, she grew up surrounded by lively spaghetti dinners, pizzelle cookies, and Liverpool card games. She later settled on the Southside of Jacksonville, Florida, where she lived for more than 51 years. There she married, adopted and gave birth to her children, and built a rich life that included a decades-long career as an administrative assistant.
Her true passion was art. Barbara possessed remarkable drawing talent and was frequently commissioned to create portraits. She also operated her own small business, custom-framing artwork from her garage. Her life’s work reached its pinnacle in a life-size graphite drawing of Michelangelo’s Pietà, which she donated to Assumption Catholic School, where it remains on display in the stairwell.
Those who knew her best remember her wonderful sense of humor, her funny character voices, silly faces, and witty jokes that could make strangers laugh. She loved dressing in costumes and created some of the happiest moments her family ever shared. Barbara devoted herself completely to her children, family, and friends, always placing others before herself.
She is survived by her husband, Stephan; her daughters, Angela and Victoria; her son, Stephan II; Angela’s husband, Nelson; and her two young granddaughters, Paisley and Emelia. She also leaves behind her brother, Michael, her sister, Bernadette, their families, and many cousins and relatives across Pennsylvania and throughout the country and the world.
