D'Augostine, 78, went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the ones who loved her most.Born on November 12, 1947, in Harrisburg, Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Gilbert J. and Gloria (Cassel) Tezak. From a young age, Barbara knew she wanted to fly. What began as a dream became a remarkable lifelong calling. From small private aircraft to large commercial carriers, Barbara mastered them all. Over the course of her distinguished career, she worked for Gannett Fleming and Southwest Airlines, eventually retiring after decades of dedication to the aviation field she so dearly loved.Barbara's determination knew no boundaries. She demonstrated quiet strength and perseverance not only in her career, but also in her personal battles with Lymphoma and later congestive heart failure after achieving remission. She faced every challenge with courage, grace, and unwavering faith.While attending Lebanon Valley College, Barbara met the love of her life, Louis "Louie" Joseph D'Augostine. They were truly made for one another - each the light of the other's life - sharing a deep and abiding love that carried them through the years.Barbara was a devoted member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and shared her love of music as a member of the Sylvan Chorale. She and Louie especially enjoyed visiting the American Music Theatre, a favorite place where they created many cherished memories together.Barbara is survived by her loving sister, Wendy Wood; her brother, John Tezak and his wife, Toni; half-sister, Gyl Tezak Turner; her nieces, Tracy Trump, Kim TJ Jacobs, Ginger Corneal and husband, John; her nephews, Adam Wood, Jeff Wood and his wife, Tonya; and her faithful, loving furry companions, Luigi and Oreo. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Joseph D'Augostine, and her brother, William Brightbill Wallace.Barbara's presence impacted anyone - and anything - who knew her, always for the better. Her beloved dogs miss her already, as do her neighbors and the many friends who became like family.
