Greene of Marshall, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 8, 2026.A.Z. was born November 18, 1936, to the late Mack and Afrey Slagle Norton. She worked for the District Attorney's office in Marshall for many years. A.Z. was a dedicated member of Laurel Branch Baptist Church where she served as Secretary/Treasurer for over 40 years. She loved to sing in church, and everyone truly enjoyed hearing her sing.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter M. Greene, her brother Lester Norton, and her sister Glenna Gibson.Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Rick Greene (Kathy) and Karen Payne (Rickey); grandchildren: Alanna Williams (Travis), Jeremy Greene (Aimee) and Colby Payne (Natalie); great grandchildren: Alexis Williams, Avery Williams, Makenzi Greene, Briahna Greene and Amberlin Greene; sisters, Hazel Norton and Debra Hughes (Ron); brother Raymond Norton (Lela); and numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at Madison Funeral Services on Saturday, March 14th from 1:00 – 2:30 pm.A private graveside service will follow at Madison Hills Cemetery with Reverend Steve Honeycutt officiating. Rick Greene, Rickey Payne, Travis Williams, Jeremy Greene, Colby Payne and Raymond Norton will serve as pallbearers.Condolences can be made to the family online at ww.MadisonFH.com.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
