Auristela Bazan Lasanta, age 82, passed away peacefully. In her last days she was surrounded by the love of her family whether it was physically and or virtually. A devoted mother, grandmother, and the beloved Matriarch of her family, Auristela lived a life defined by strength, compassion, and unwavering love for those around her.
Born in Patillas, Puerto Rico, Auristela moved to New York at a young age, carrying with her a remarkable sense of independence and determination that would define her life. She was a woman of incredible resilience who fought bravely throughout life’s challenges with courage and grace.
Auristela was truly the heart of her family. As the Matriarch, she lovingly cared for everyone around her, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate family—anyone who crossed her path felt her warmth, kindness, and willingness to help. Taking care of others came naturally to her.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She deeply loved gathering everyone together, especially around the table to share the meals she prepared with love. Her cooking became a symbol of her care, bringing her children and loved ones together to laugh, talk, and create lasting memories.
Auristela leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children: Andres Jr., Oscar, David, Jasmine, Alexis, Grisell, Michelle, Crystal, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will forever carry her love, strength, and values in their hearts.
She will be remembered as a strong woman, a devoted mother, a nurturing soul, and the foundation of her family. Her love created a home where everyone felt welcomed, cared for, and protected.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her love and legacy will continue to live on through the lives she touched.
