August Martin Moreau Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. Born on March 21, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of August Martin Moreau Sr. and Mary Helen Moreau, both of Baltimore. August proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. Following his military service, he built a dedicated career with Ford Motor Company, where he worked until his retirement. Known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and devotion to his family, August lived a life rooted in faith and commitment. On September 30, 1967, he married the love of his life, Ola Jean Hutchison. Their marriage was a lasting testament to love, partnership, and family. August was a child of God and a faithful attendee of Dixie Valley Church of God until his disability, where his faith was an important part of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ola Jean Moreau, and his son, August Martin “Trey” Moreau III. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and dedication that will be cherished by those who knew and loved him. August will be remembered for his steadfast character, his devotion to family, and the quiet kindness he shared with those around him. Though he will be deeply missed on earth, his family finds comfort in knowing he now rests in the peace and eternal grace of the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August Martin Moreau, Sr. and Mary Helen Moreau.
August leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 58 years, Ola Moreau and his son, August Martin "Trey" Moreau, III.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 2pm-5pm. A celebration of August's life will be Monday, March 23, 2026 beginning at 12pm at the funeral home.
Grave services will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery- Central, 2501 North Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY beginning at 1:30pm with military honors.
