Audrey Wilkinson

Audrey Wilkinson, 99, of Cadillac, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, surrounded by love. Born on February 5, 1927, in Cadillac to Erwin and Gladys Fortlage, she graduated from Cadillac Schools and went on to enjoy a 40-year career as a Michigan Bell telephone operator.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Audrey trusted God through every season of her nearly century-long life. In her final months she lived at Curry House Assisted Living, where she reconnected with old friends, made new ones, and remained grateful for the care she received. She held a special place in her heart for animals; her beloved beagles and her cherished cat, Smokey Joe, brought her immeasurable joy and were like children to her.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Franklin and Noni Sias. Audrey is survived by her brother, Bob (Donna) Fortlage; her sister, Polly (Jerry) Jeffers; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her close friends, Kelly McCord and Terri Councilor.
