He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Thorpe and Vernie Thorpe; his wife Wanda Thorpe; and his stepson Richard Myer. He is survived by: his brother Buddy; his children, Cathy Albright (Billy) and Eric Thorpe (Meg); his grandchildren, Kerry Snyder (Joanna), Amy Huhn (Mark), Scott Myer (Maggie), Ryan Smith, Madison Thorpe and Kathryn Thorpe; his great grandchildren, Piper, Rylan, Silas, Brandon, Libby and Avery; and his sisters, Matilda Posey, Judith Broyhill and Deborah Wilkinson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Pierce Funeral Home (9609 Center St, Manassas, VA 20110). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Stonewall Memory Gardens (12004 Lee Hwy, Manassas, VA 20109).
