He is survived by: his wife Nancy Barnes; his children, Melinda Hamilton, Aubrey Barnes Jr. (Linda) and Kimberly Barnes; his grandchildren, Ryan Hamilton (Chanelle), Jaclyn Hamilton (Brandon), Daniel Barnes (Rebecca), Jesse Barnes and Maggie Barnes; his siblings, David Barnes (Dawn) and Debra Huntsburger (Gary); and his pet Hope. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rest Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery (1601 Pennsylvania Ave, Hagerstown, MD 21742). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Barney was an avid animal lover so in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Washington County Humane Society, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, Maryland.
