Ashlee Ann Empey Stoddard, age 21, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 12, 2004, in Idaho Falls to Amy Hincks Empey and Danny Empey, Ashlee was known from a young age for her vibrant spirit, kindness, and determination. She grew up playing softball on school and travel teams, forging deep friendships and cherished memories. She graduated from Thunder Ridge High School and earned her Medical Assistant certificate from the College of Eastern Idaho. Ashlee worked as a medical assistant at Family First Medical Center, where her compassion and caring nature left a lasting impression on patients and coworkers alike. She had a deep love for learning and was actively pursuing her RN license with the goal of continuing to serve others in the medical field.
On March 21, 2025, Ashlee married the love of her life, Caleb Stoddard, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Their marriage was rooted in love, faith, and devotion, and Caleb remained steadfastly by her side throughout her illness. Ashlee found great comfort in her puppy, Maggie, and was remembered for her gentle spirit, her quickness to forgive, and the ease with which she was loved. Above all, she held a strong and unwavering relationship with Jesus Christ. She loved attending the temple and living her faith. Throughout her trial, Ashlee became an example to many of true courage, peace, and trust in the Savior, never complaining and facing her journey without fear.
She is survived by her husband, Caleb Stoddard; her parents, Amy Hincks Empey and Danny Empey; her sister, Chelsey Nef; her grandparents, Dusty and Joyce Hincks; her grandmother, Sue Gray; and her in-laws, Bart and Michelle Stoddard; along with many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly. Ashlee’s faith, strength, kindness, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though her time on earth was short, the light she brought into the lives of others will never be forgotten.
