Arthur Willis Brown, age 90, passed away on March 10, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Martha Brown; his first wife, Dixie; his son, John; his stepdaughter, Malissa; and his sisters, Merta, Edith, Marie, and Rosie.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his sons, Wendell Brown of New Market, Tennessee, and Jeremiah (Lynn) Brown of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Arthur married Dixie Baker in 1965, and they shared 31 years together until her death in 1996. They had three sons: Wendell, John, and Jeremiah. He married Marjorie in 1997. He served in the United States Army from age 22 to 24. For thirty years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Conner Brothers Excavating, helping to build numerous subdivisions in the west Knoxville area. Over the years, he lived in Port Comfort and Yokum, Texas, as well as Harriman and Knoxville, Tennessee, before settling in Deer Lodge. In his later years, Arthur cherished time with family and friends. He loved to cook, tend his garden, and sing. A longtime member of Pilot Mountain Baptist Church, he was known for his gift of storytelling and his ready supply of dad jokes.
