Arthur Mack Wagley, Jr.

January 25, 1939 March 8, 2026

Port Neches, TX

Arthur Mack Wagley, Jr., known to all who loved him as Mack, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at the age of 87. He was a man of deep faith, unwavering loyalty, and quiet devotion who touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Mack was born on January 25, 1939, in Many, Louisiana. From his humble beginnings in the small town, he grew into a man of remarkable purpose and determination. As a young man, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an experience that shaped the course of his life and planted the seeds of a faith he would carry with him always. He went on to earn a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah, where his sharp mindand tireless work ethic set him on a path toward a distinguished career with Texaco. Over the years, he served in various technical and managerial positions, earning the respect of colleagues who admired his integrity, hard work and dedication.

Mack was, above all else, a family man. He was sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple to his beloved wife, Pat, and over the next 62 years together they built a life centered on love, service, and faith. He was a wonderful father to three children—Craig, Cheryl and Ryan—and always present, always steady, always encouraging. Outside of family, church service and work, Mack found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, spending time working in his yard, and gathering with the people he cared about most.

His commitment to his faith was extraordinary. A devout and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mack served faithfully in the Houston, Texas Temple for more than ten years. His service was not an obligation but an expression of faith and love, a reflection of the man he was at his core. He was friendly to all, loving without condition, and hard working in every endeavor he undertook. Those who knew him will remember a man who prayed that we could always "do right things, right," and who spent his life trying to do exactly that.

Mack is survived by his wife, Pat, his sons Craig and Ryan, his daughters-in-law Pam and Tawna, his brother Charles and his sister Dinah, along with a community of friends, fellow Saints, and loved ones who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Louise, his brother Page, his sister Martha and his beloved daughter Cheryl. Mack and Pat were blessed with ten treasured grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation, funeral, and graveside services will be held in Port Neches, Texas on March 14 at 11:00 am at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home (2001 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas 77651)
