Cole Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 92. He was a cherished resident of New Baltimore, Michigan, and was born on a beautiful spring day in Roseville, Michigan, on April 22, 1933.Art, as he was affectionately known, was the loving husband of Joan for an inspiring 67 years. Together, they built a family full of love and warmth. He was the devoted father to Wendy (Peter) Mikula, Arthur J. Cole Jr., and Heidi (Charlie) Glaub, and a proud grandfather to Christopher, Olivia, Isabelle, and Nicholas. Art is also survived by his brother, Stuart (Suzanne) DeFauw, Sister; Mary (Peter) Merrifield, many nieces, nephews, and other dear family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; Arthur and Clara Cole, beloved sister, Irene (John) Burlon, and his siblings-in-law, Frank (Geri) Peltier Jr., Donald (Millie) Peltier, Duane Peltier, Doris (Robert) Arnold, Margaret (Frank) Barnett, and Joseph (Jean) Peltier.A dedicated and hardworking man, Art devoted much of his adult life to Chrysler Automotive at the Lynch Road Assembly Plant in Detroit. His career spanned roles in property management as a Fire Marshall and Security Personnel, a testament to his varied talents and commitment. Art carried his skills home, where he spent over 50 years tirelessly improving and expanding his home to accommodate his growing family.A true sports fanatic, Art had a deep passion for all things related to the University of Michigan, and he shared this love with those around him. Despite his many talents and passions, Art remained a humble and simple man, always supportive of the endeavors of his wife, children, and family.Art proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army, an experience that instilled in him values of dedication and service which he carried throughout his life.He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.Visitation for Art will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Wasik Funeral Home - Gendernalik Chapel, located at 35259 23 Mile Rd, New Baltimore, MI. A funeral service will follow on the same day at 11:30 am at the same location.Arrangements have been graciously provided by Wasik Funeral Home.
