Arthur Garcia, a devoted man of faith and beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 90 in Spring, Texas.
Born on October 15, 1935, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Gerardo Garcia and Macedonia Padilla Garcia, Arthur lived a life centered on his Catholic faith and his deep love for family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Sharpshooter, showing courage and discipline during his years of service. After his military duty, he returned to Fort Worth and worked for a printing company before moving to Houston, where he built a long career with Shell Oil Company as a Chemical Operator until his retirement.
Arthur found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He cherished time spent with his family, cheering for the Houston Astros and Houston Texans, and watching Wheel of Fortune. Many of his happiest moments were spent around the table enjoying his wife Mary Helen’s homemade cheese enchiladas. His quiet strength, steady faith, and unwavering devotion to his family defined him throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Helen Garcia; his son, David Garcia; his parents, Gerardo Garcia and Macedonia Padilla Garcia; and his siblings Ramon Garcia, Richard Garcia, Juanita Rodriguez, Alicia DeSantiago, Mary Mata, and Carmen Garcia.
Arthur is survived by his children Lydia Minor, Gabriel Garcia and wife Carolyn, Ruben Garcia and wife Cindy, Oscar Garcia and wife Sharon, and Elias Garcia and wife Janet, as well as his brothers Filemon Garcia and Joe Garcia. He leaves behind a large and loving legacy through his grandchildren Latricha, Gina, Reginald, Melissa, Gabriel Jr., Ashley, Crystal, Emily, Cody, Samantha, Cordero, Taylor, Alex, April, Grace, Niko, Demetri, and Zoe, and 21 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward the values of faith, love, and kindness he instilled in them.
His family finds comfort knowing he is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Mary Helen, together again in eternal peace.
