Sugar Grove, NC
Arthur Blaine Ward, born on September 28, 1948, to Martha and Blaine Ward of Sugar Grove, North Carolina, passed away on March 13, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him.
A man of deep faith, Arthur was a longtime member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where he found joy in worship and fellowship. For 35 years he worked as a master carpenter through Ward Construction, completing countless projects across Watauga County and the surrounding area. His skilled hands and dedication left a lasting legacy in the homes and structures he built, touching many lives along the way.
Above all, Arthur cherished his family. He was happiest in their company, known for his playful jokes and warm presence. He took great pleasure in restoring and building tractors to display at local shows and enjoyed quiet evenings on the couch with a sweet snack, watching crime or car shows, often with a nap mixed in.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife and friend Alice Ward, an infant daughter Diana Ward, and stepson Michael Frederick. Arthur is survived by his wife of 20 years, Debbie; daughter Pamela Stout (Perry); son Eddie Ward (Amber); daughter Stephanie Ward; stepchildren Samantha Lipford (Blaine) and Matthew Frederick (Jessica); brothers Hubert Ward, James Ward (Linda), Tommy Ward, and Richard Ward (Kat); sisters Sandra Ward, Caroline Ward, and Tina Ward; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
