Sturms, 57, of Rockford IL, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Art was born in Geneseo, IL to Bernard and Ruby Sturms on November 30, 1968.Growing up, Art developed a passion for football, fishing, and wrestling. He graduated from Dixon High School and spent time learning and wrestling at Lincoln College. He was a proud member of the Operative Plasters' and Cement Masons' International Association Local 11. He made an impact coaching youth sports including wrestling and football. Art was a loving father to Anthony and Adrianna. He loved dogs and at the time of passing had a Basset Hound named Walter. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, working in his yard, and going fishing with his son and friends. Art was loved and will be deeply missed by many.Art is survived by his ex-wife, Nancy and their children; one son, Anthony; one daughter, Adrianna; two sisters, Tammy (Matt) and Treva (Rod); and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard; mother, Ruby; stepfather, Troy; and brother, Terry.Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N.
