Arthur Ambrose Garcia Jr., affectionately known as "Artie" to his family, passed away peacefully at his home in Norfolk, Virginia, on March 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 62 years old. Born on May 14, 1963, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Arthur A. Garcia Sr. and Mary A. Mendoza, Artie lived a life defined by dedication, faith, and deep love for his family.

He humbly served his country in the United States Navy for 22 years, achieving the rank of Gas Systems Technician First Class (GSM-1). His strong work ethic, commitment to service, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

In his free time, Artie enjoyed fixing computers, cooking for loved ones, and especially grilling steaks for family gatherings. He loved singing and listening to music, hunting for antiques and interesting finds, and talking with friends and neighbors. He had a unique sense of humor and a distinctive way of seeing the world. Artie especially cherished watching the sunset over the Lafayette River from the home he shared for 23 years. A devoted member of the Mt. Zion Kingdom of Yahawah, he held a deep and unwavering love for the Almighty Creator ABA YAHAWAH. Above all, he treasured his family and found great joy in spending time with them.
