Arnoldo Garza Jr., 77, died Sunday, March 15, 2026, at DHR Health Hospice in Edinburg.

Born and raised in Pharr, Texas, Mr. Garza retired from Weslaco Independent School District as an elementary teacher. He enjoyed traveling with his family and enjoyed art and music.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnoldo R. Garza and Aida Hinojosa; paternal grandfather, Tiburcio Garza; and maternal grandmother, Luisa S. Hinojosa.

Mr. Garza is survived by his two sisters, Maria Aida Alanis and her sons: Felipe E. Alanis (Irene), their daughter, Jackie Alanis; and Marko E. Alanis (Marissa), and their children, Diego Alanis and Juliana Alanis; younger sister, Maria de los Angles "Angie" Trevino (Ruben) and sons, Reuben (Erin) and their daughters, Isabella and Kailani Trevino; and Roland Trevino.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan, Texas.
