Arnold Rafkind Levy

1933 — 2026

Palm Coast, FL

Arnold Rafkind Levy, 93, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. Born in the Bronx in 1933, Arnie grew up in Brooklyn, New York, surrounded by many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He attended Brooklyn College and later graduated from Harvard Law School in 1957, after taking a year off to try writing the Great American Novel, Rafkind Rabbit.

Arnie practiced corporate and securities law in New York City as a partner in the firms Wagner McNiff DiMaio & Levy and Epstein Becker & Green. He also held executive positions with corporations in the securities, film, and oil industries. In 1987, he married Muriel and retired shortly afterward. The couple moved to Palm Coast, Florida, where Arnie became deeply involved in his community, serving as director and president of the Flagler County Auditorium Governing Board and the Flagler County Education Foundation, and as a trustee of the Flagler County Library.

A man of wide-ranging interests, Arnie loved reading, crossword puzzles, politics, telling jokes, and watching sports and old movies. He shared these passions during weekly lunches with his Polymath Group, a circle of like-minded friends in Palm Coast. He never met a hot dog or coffee ice cream he didn’t like. While his brilliant mind was immediately apparent, Arnie’s greatest gift was his deep capacity for love and his lifelong commitment to improving himself until the very end.

He is survived by his children, Chaim Zalman Levy, Kathy Pecht (Michael), Susie Levy (Al), Matt Silbert (Kat), Stephen Silbert (Jennifer), Tony Silbert (Leah), and his ex-wife, Carole. He leaves behind cherished grandchildren Sandy Pecht, Stella Silbert, Julian Pecht, Oliver Racciatti, Bram Silbert, and Maddie Racciatti. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Muriel; his sister, Adie; and his parents, Jack and Belle Levy.
