Fort Kent, ME
Arlene Voisine, 63, of Fort Kent, passed away on January 20, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Fort Kent on April 5, 1962, the daughter of the late Claude and Bernice (Landry) Voisine.
Arlene lived her entire life in Fort Kent, where she became a beloved and familiar presence in the community. Known for her playful spirit, she delighted in playing tricks and telling jokes, sharing her warm sense of humor with everyone she met. A talented, self-taught craftswoman, she created thoughtful handmade gifts for family and friends. Sociable and genuinely interested in others, Arlene loved visiting with friends and neighbors. She had a remarkable ability to remember people, their names, and their stories, making everyone feel seen and valued.
She will be fondly remembered for her creative displays at the Scarecrow Festival and for her enthusiastic participation in community events such as the Pow-Wow and the Muskie Festival. Arlene often responded to expressions of love with a smile and the words, “You don’t have a choice, we are family,” followed by one of her signature big bear hugs. Her favorite sayings, “Don’t worry about it” and “It’s in God’s hands,” reflected her gentle outlook on life.
She was predeceased by her parents, Claude J. Voisine and Bernice (Landry) Voisine, and her brother-in-law, Roger Soucy. Arlene is survived by her siblings, Louise and Louis Bouchard of St. François, New Brunswick, Canada, Michael Voisine of Fort Kent, Christina Soucy of St. John Plantation, Cynthia and Phil Guy of Fort Kent, and Doris and John Metz of Clarksville, Arkansas, along with many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
