Arlena Prim ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Roselawn Burial and Cremation Services on Mar. 17, 2026.Arlena Prim, 96, of Salina, she was a fighter, and she fought until the very end because she did not want to leave her daughter, however she wanted to see God on Saturday, March 14, 2026. She was born on January 20, 1930, in Parsons, Kansas. Arlena was a member of multiple churches where she served on the usher board, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. Also, a missionary member and served for many years. She was on the board for Martin Luther King, Dunbar School Association and BACOS. She was a faithful worker no matter where she served.She worked hard doing housework and later achieved a GED. She took courses in accounting and typing thanks to Rev. Blackmon, who acquired a scholarship at age 40, for her and others. Seeking employment needless to say, was impossible at the time. Later, she did work at Westinghouse for 15 years and at the VA in California and then retired, she worked for USD 305 for 24 years with full retirement at age 92.She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Theresa William, Geraldine Briscoe, Jackie Lucas, and brother, Lancer Martin.Survivors include her only daughter, Kaye Prim; sister, Rachel Holt-Fikes; and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford Street, Salina.Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. John's Missionary Baptist, 215 S Chicago Street, Salina.
