Ardith Jean Slote

Ardith Jean Slote, age 86, died on March 9, 2026, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on April 2, 1939, in Allerton, Iowa, to Kenneth H. Stevens and Willa (Cunningham) Stevens.

Ardie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burch D. Slote; her daughters, Margaret and Peggy Jo Slote; her sister, Patricia (Stevens) Dennison; and her brothers, Kenneth E. Stevens and Ralph Stevens.

She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Arlene DeArman; her beloved grandsons, Josh Blanks and Jacob Slote, who were the center of her life; her granddaughter of the heart; her niece, Brooke (Dennison) Sutton; her brother of the heart and brother-in-law, Norris Dennison; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Ardie found quiet joy in tending her plants and flowers, watching snow fall, and enjoying old western movies. Though Alzheimer’s Dementia gradually took her present, she held fast to memories of her earlier years and the family she cherished.
