Archie Manuel Spencer

Archie Manuel Spencer, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away on March 9, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on December 13, 1940, in Maries County, Missouri, to Emmett and Lucy (Feeler) Spencer, he married Sandra Black on August 24, 1963, in Rolla.

For more than sixty years, Archie dedicated himself to Spencer Construction, building numerous homes and projects throughout the Rolla area with a lasting reputation for hard work, integrity, and fine craftsmanship. He cherished his family above all, finding deep joy in time spent with his children, and later in supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their activities. Archie enjoyed good meals, especially seafood, prime rib, and sweets. A man of quiet faith, he maintained a personal relationship with God throughout his life, which deepened in his later years when he joined the Catholic Church, bringing him peace and renewed spiritual comfort. Whether fishing from his pontoon or quietly helping anyone in need, he lived with steady generosity and quiet strength that touched everyone around him.

Archie was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Don and Paul Spencer, and a great-grandson, Cole. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Spencer of Rolla; his six children, Alyce Spencer and partner Paul Colvin of Rolla, Lucia Hart and husband Richard of Rolla, Dana Spencer of Rolla, Randy Spencer and wife Alyssa of Rolla, Stephanie Duff and husband Daniel of Arnold, and Michael Spencer and wife Karla of St. James; two sisters, Linda Rush and Mary Sue Sanchez and husband Tony, both of Rolla; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

His life was one of deep love, countless acts of service, and enduring contributions to the Rolla community he helped build. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
