Archie D. Begay

Archie D. Begay, 76, of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born on December 14, 1949, in Shiprock, New Mexico, to Manson and Martha Barber-Begay, Archie was a proud U.S. Army veteran who graduated from Page High School in 1969.

A dedicated outdoorsman, Archie found deep joy in the mountains and embraced a simple, self-sufficient way of life. He enjoyed watching television shows about subsistence living and remained a hardworking provider for his family throughout his years. Later in life, he became a man of faith and was a cherished member of Oasis Ministries Church in Farmington.

Archie is preceded in death by his wife, Velda J. Begay, his son, Aaron J. Begay, his parents, Manson and Martha Begay, his brother, Larry Begay, and his sisters, Barbara Talk and Dorothy Cachucha.

He is survived by his sons, Terence Suina and Jered Begay, his daughter, Valene Begay, his brothers, Glen Begay and Martin Begaii, his sisters, Edith Beach, Irene Begay and Linda Begay, and his grandchildren, Xavier Begay, Kaylynn Begay, Jessica Begay, Eli Begay, Gracelynn Begay, and Josiah Begay.
