April Layla Lujan

April 12, 1973 March 8, 2026

Boise, ID

April Layla Lujan passed away on March 8th, 2026, after a long, courageous, and admirable 13 year long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family until the very end.

She was the first child of 3- born on April 12, 1973 in Ogden, Utah, to Roberta Lujan.

In 1989 she got pregnant with her first of 3 kids, Adam, born in June of 1990. While pregnant, she moved to Boise, Idaho where she began planting her roots with the kids’ father, Rick. They went on to have 2 more kids- Jake in August of 1996 and Megan in September of 1998.

In 2004 she met her life partner, Craig. They spent a beautiful 22 years together.

In 2016, she discovered her father, Jack, via Ancestry. Being his only child, she introduced him to his brand new family. He was gladly welcomed in as a father, grandfather and even great grandfather.

April enjoyed trips to the ocean, being a strong advocate for missing and murdered indigenous women, supporting native american businesses, learning about her native roots and ancestors, genealogy, cooking, baking, gardening, caring for her plants, collecting cool rocks, watercolor painting and much more. Most of all, she enjoyed spending every opportunity she got with her family.

April was such a beloved sister, daughter, aunt, mother, partner and friend and will be in all of our hearts forever.

She is survived by her father, Jack; her sister Alisha; her partner Craig; her sons Adam (Cora); and Jake (Kelsey); her daughter Megan (Sebastian); her grandchildren Emma, Colson and Rowan, as well as one more on the way.

A celebration of life will be held on April 12, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to Not Our Native Daughters- A National Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Organization.
